Dental Da VinciDental Da Vinci — digital competition analysis of Kyiv dental clinics

A dental competitor analysis for a clinic in Kyiv: I researched the digital competition — websites, SEO, social media, search and social ads — and drew up a plan of what to fix first. Below are the key findings from the client presentation.

A market map instead of guesswork

The task

Figure out how the clinic can win in a city with a dentist on every corner.

What was done

More than 300 websites in the quantitative sample, 12 in the in-depth one. CMS, UX, SEO, social media, search and social ads. Competitors segmented into “young”, “mature” and “authorities”, with tactics for each.

What the client got

A market map and a list of weak spots to fix first.

Dental competitor analysis: how the research went

First, a broad sample: more than 300 dental clinic websites in Kyiv. At this stage you see the overall market picture: which platforms clinics run on, who invests in SEO, who lives on social media and who relies on ads.

Then 12 clinics in a deep analysis. Here I looked at the websites through a patient’s eyes: how quickly you can find a service and its price, how to book an appointment, whether the site builds trust. Separately — a technical audit, SEO, social media activity, search and social ads.

I split the competitors into three groups — “young”, “mature” and “authorities” — and described for each how the clinic should compete with it. The client received a presentation with conclusions and a comparison table, and above all a list of what to fix first.

This kind of analysis is worth doing before building or updating a website: it gives the spec and the estimate real input instead of guesswork.
